Another month down, which means it is time to do the monthly round up of my current favorites. I generally don’t do a currents post every single month because I usually stick to the same main products month to month, but this month I have discovered new products that I have been enjoying.
I recently repurchased MAC’s Studio Fix Powder Foundation, which I ran out of a few months back and I don’t know why it took me this long to repurchase it considering it used to be a staple in my collection. Sometimes during the hot summer months I don’t feel like wearing any liquid foundations, which is why this comes in handy. The coverage is great, but it feels very lightweight. The more you buff this powder in, the better and more flawless it looks.
I’m always looking for new cleansers and skin care products because, well, I’m a product junkie. Other than this cleanser I currently only have cream cleansers and sometimes a cream cleanser just won’t do. I like the Alba Pineapple Enzyme Cleanser because it has a gel-like consistency, and feels very cooling and soft on the skin. Also, it doesn’t leave your skin dry, but it isn’t overly moisturizing like some cream cleansers can be. It really just leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean. Another reason I have been enjoying this product is because it has more natural ingredients.
Along with cleansers, I love trying out new mascaras. MAC’s In Extreme Dimension and Too Faced’s Lashgasm mascaras are both amazing. They separate the lashes, without being clumpy and allow you to really get to the root of your eyelashes. The more you apply, the longer, thicker, and more fanned out your lashes look.
MAC’s Nylon eyeshadow (bottom right of the quad) is a pale goldish champagne frost eyeshadow, and it is perfect to use as an inner corner highlight, which is how I use it. It really brightens the inner corner of your eyes, making your eyes look big and awake.
I love softer colors for the summer and OPI’s You’re Such a Budapest is a gorgeous blue toned lilac. I”m all about lavender and lilac nails right now, and this nail polish has been a favorite of mine this past month, and will probably continue to be my favorite into the next month.
Eyebrows are big this season, and have been for a while ever since Cara Delevingne hit the stage. I have been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade a lot, but decided to try out The Face Shop’s Lovely ME:EX Design My Eyebrow pencil for a change. This reminds me of Tom Ford’s Brow Sculptor, which is also double sided. One side is the spoolie that you use to brush through your eyebrows and the other side is a mechanical angled pencil, which allows you to fill in your eyebrows easily. The Tom Ford Brow Sculptor is $44, while this one was under $10 and it is a really great buy!
Last is Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in Flirty Honey. Unfortunately, this shade seems to be discontinued for the time being and the only “Almost Lipstick” anyone has in stock is Black Honey, which I have not tried before. Flirty Honey, however, is a very sheer pink lipstick. It is moisturizing and slightly glossy, which is perfect for a lax summer day.
